Reminds me of the Russian Veshmeshok. Seen a lot of variants in SE Asia.
It’s somewhat same technique to do both, wouldn’t be surprised if the guy got idea from russian or eastern “makeshift pack”.
I’ve used it couple of times during hunting, you can pretty much put anything and wrap it up like in the video. The only things I usually skip are fragile stuff like bino or optics since you really don’t wanna put your expensive night vision optics( https://gritrsports.com/optics/sport-optics/night-vision/ I’m usually using ATN binos). Other than that you good to throw everything in there and tie it up :D
