To say this is bad is an understatement. I don’t even really know how to quantify this. But think of the worse surveillance AI system in a city like London covered with more cameras than you can imagine. Next overlay a real time social credit system like China has and we’ve began to experience in different forms in the west over the past two years. Finally, you synthesize all that with even more overarching control and knowledge about every penny that you spend and that data is ultimately owned and controlled by the US Federal Reserve, which is not a federal institution but a privately chartered reserve bank which is owned in turn by the most powerful 24 member banks on Wall Street.
While we are talking about interesting facts about the US Federal Reserve, again private institution, did you know that they have their own federal law enforcement force that reports directly to them? It was created by the Patriot act. Citation:

There is a whole other tail about how they got their permanent federal 1811 status under Obama but that’ll be another article. Suffice to say, this Central Bank Digital Currency, is merely a part of a larger multinational push from many different directions. One final example that includes a name many will recognize, Palantir, and data that everyone should be rather keen on protecting who knows what, their private medical data. However, its not Palantir that’s the bad guy here, its the British National Healthcare System, you know the “free”, not free, health care. Palantir just happened to win the contract from the NHS, but the government funded and run NHS is saying that if you are a patient treated by NHS then you have no right to own your own medical information and that they own it and are free to use it however they like.
Like many of the challenges the United States, the West, and really the world faces at this time in history it can feel like there are an almost innumerable amount of challenges we face and assaults from all sides. However, I would contend, for as complicated and numerous as the issues may appear, they really come back to the same basic questions that were discussed, argued and eventually motivated our founding fathers to declare their independence from the United Kingdom and fight the Revolutionary War.
I will leave you with these first two paragraphs from the Declaration of Independence, I encourage you to read the whole thing and reflect on some of the issues they enumerate in that document to some of the issues I highlighted that different people are facing from their own governments in different parts of the world.
