I’ve logged a lot of years serving in the area of the South China Sea. I know that region of the world intimately. The guest made a comment that caught my attention. When I hear an off hand prognostication I let it go but when I hear the same one from more than one source then i take notice. It takes on the mantle of zeitgeist.
Weatherman suggested the Chinese might not stop with Taiwan but go for Guam. That’s a whole new wrinkle. I’ve heard that before. Something to consider. China wants to button up the entire region. Expanding on that thought, what’s to stop them at Guam. What about Midway, Wake? US territories.
I knew making Hawaii a state was a bad idea even as a kid way back in 1955.
