I think that short video is exactly correct. Lately I have been studying the Mexican cartel fighting through available video. Both the cartels and the civilian self defense militias will establish trail watchers and road checkpoints like the comical one Alpha Charlie shows. They set these up along the edge of contested territory to control access. Something to sit on and some form of shade from the sun are the main features, rather than sandbags, concealment, and anti-mobility obstacles. I do not suggest that this casual approach is the best method for American irregulars in SHTF, but it does demonstrate that some form of layered security involving outguards, trail watchers, and sentries is a constant requirement, and it is more often than not very boring duty.

I’ll be playing my video game and smoking a party blunt even if they don’t accept EBT at the dispensary.
Mommygov will keep me safe with checkpoints and guns.

It’s kind of hard to predict what the domestic upheaval will look like, or how it will go because what may be true in John’s locale may not be true in yours.

However if you’re doing mag dumps, you’re going to be black on ammo quick fast and in a hurry.

Being mobile and never having static positions is probably going to be the winning move to be honest.

Take a good look at that terrain too. I mean a good look. Those of youse who got the rifles with big scopes on them.. in that terrain the most I’d even want is an ACOG, probably would prefer an EOTech with a riser to be honest so it can do 24 hour aiming behind the optic.. like going passive with NODS.
