FBI Tried to Stop FBI Whistleblower From Telling Oversight Committee About Bureau’s Misconduct During Hunter Biden Probe

The Federal Bureau of Investigation allegedly tried to prevent an FBI whistleblower from testifying before the House Committee on Oversight and Accountability about the Justice Department’s handling of the criminal investigation into Hunter Biden’s shady business dealings.

As part of their ongoing probe of the Biden family’s influence peddling operation, the Republican-controlled Oversight committee on Monday conducted a transcribed interview with a former Wilmington FBI supervisory special agent assigned to the Biden criminal investigation.

The FBI agent confirmed key portions of the IRS whistleblowers’ testimony, including their allegation that both Secret Service headquarters and the Biden transition team were tipped off about a planned Hunter Biden interview.

IRS Supervisory Special Agent Gary Shapley and the former FBI supervisory special agent were allegedly assigned to interview Hunter Biden on December 8, 2020.

On the evening of December 7, 2020, Shapley and the FBI whistleblower allegedly learned that FBI headquarters had notified Secret Service headquarters about the planned interview with Hunter Biden, and that the Biden transition team was also notified about the planned interview.

“This was not the original plan by the career agents, which frustrated their investigative efforts because people found out who didn’t need to know,” the House Oversight Committee said in its statement Monday.

The next day, Shapley and the FBI whistleblower were allegedly  told not to approach Hunter Biden’s house to do the interview. Instead, the investigators were told to wait near his residence until Hunter Biden contacted them, which he never did. As a result, Shapley and the FBI whistleblower were never able to interview Hunter Biden.

According to the Oversight Republicans, the night before the whistleblower gave this damning testimony, he received a letter from the FBI directing him to “DECLINE TO RESPOND” to the committee’s questions regarding the Biden family.

“This is just another account of the Biden Administration attempting to intimidate critical witnesses in this investigation,” the GOP Oversight Committee Twitter account tweeted Tuesday afternoon. “Regardless of their tactics, there will be accountability.”

On Wednesday, the two IRS whistleblowers will give public testimonies at 1:00 p.m. Eastern about alleged DOJ and IRS misconduct in the Biden criminal investigation.

“Evidence provided by these whistleblowers confirms many findings of our investigation into the Bidens’ influence peddling schemes,” the Oversight Republicans tweeted. “We thank them for their bravery in coming forward.”
