Just wait until the “C” in BRICS decides to do similar.

Don’t think it would matter if China stopped exports, they currently only export 1.5% of their production and are a net importer. Burma exports more rice than China.

I read this story a few days ago and best I could tell this is not a big deal. India has banned export of non-basmati rice due to low harvest this year. That still means they are exporting rice, it’s just basmati only. I don’t know much about Indian rice varieties but it looks like this “panic” buying is just for certain types of specialty rice that Indian immigrants prefer for their traditional dishes, not a general shortage of rice.

Rice is a construct of the white male patriarchy.
All your paddies are belong to us.
All bags will be redistributed in the spirit of egalitarian equity.
No more than one bag per comrade of the glorious new civility unity collective.
    Forward, si se puede!
