As usual Scouts observations are worthy of contemplation. The term Civil War is used because its a frame of reference for the inarticulate and those that dont want to spend to much time trying to explain and get to the meat of their point. How about Civil Chaos? Or borrow our Irish brethren’s terminology and call it “The Troubles II” . I suspect its going to be sudden like an avalanche even as the lead up is clear. Everyone sees the big snow overhang and goes “hmmm” but thinks they have a little more time until its breaks off with a roar. Like “the Summer of Love” when something sparks the big event lots of people are going to figure crap out pretty quick and organize-or reorganize their neighborhood watch or citizens safety groups, or extended family, or stand shoulder to shoulder with the neighbor acquaintance they see armed and standing guard in their front yard. This time people will be less concerned about the feelings of their attackers. Since its been demonstrated by insurance companies covering the Maui property owners that fire insurance doesnt mean what it used to, citizens are not going to stand by and let rioters burn their house down and wait for a claims adjuster. If someone thinks they can throw a molotov further than a 12 ga can reach, Id be interested in seeing that display on “Demolition Ranch”.
