Patriotman currently ekes out a survivalist lifestyle in a suburban northeastern state as best as he can. He has varied experience in political science, public policy, biological sciences, and higher education. Proudly Catholic and an Eagle Scout, he has no military experience and thus offers a relatable perspective for the average suburban prepper who is preparing for troubled times on the horizon with less than ideal teams and in less than ideal locations. There is no civil defense in what is now known as the FUSA. Virtually every public fallout shelter constructed in the 1950’s & 1960’s is obsolete. Many have been abandoned or even turned into storage facilities. Home shelters are also relegated to the past. There is even doubt about the ABM defense system & if it will even work at all. As far as early warning broadcasts in the event of a nuke attack, forget it. Haven’t heard a test on AM radio for well over forty years. Many people will shrug off the EMP attack before the nukes arrive or panic & ultimately get injured or even killed in the process.

All I can say is be prepared. Patronize the sponsors here at AP who can provide you with the equipment, supplies & information to get you through the inevitable.
