PATRIOTMAN RANT: Russia’s electronic warfare tactics are helping it turn the tide against Ukraine

At first, Ukraine noticed its GPS-guided 155mm Excalibur artillery shells suddenly started veering off target.

Then rockets fired with Himars, which Kyiv once boasted had “scalpel-like” accuracy, began missing their targets. In some areas, they almost always missed.

The same happened to JDAM guided bombs supplied to Ukraine’s air force by the United States.

Frantic investigation eventually discovered they had all fallen victim to a new threat – Russian jamming. Moscow has quietly developed a knack for taking out some of Ukraine’s most prized missiles and rockets.

It is a rare but crucial example of Russian technological advantage in a war that has been slowly tipping in Moscow’s favour.

Along almost the entirety of the front lines, an invisible wall of electromagnetic pulses now stretches like a shield.

An elaborate network of radio, infrared and radar signals hurled into the skies over the battlefield provides Russian forces with unprecedented protections in some areas.

Does this sound like what we have been preaching for years? You need to get Signals Intelligence Gear and Training!

Luckily, we can help with this.

Here is the link to The Guerrilla’s Guide to Signals Intelligence.

If you missed the first release, here is the link to the Guerrilla’s Guide to the Baofeng Radio.

Need antenna help? No worries, baby! Here is The Special Force’s Antenna Handbook!

All of the communications gear you need? Right here.

All of the Signals Intelligence gear you need? Right here.

Want to look good while doing all this? Right here.

The Ukraine war and the Israeli War have shown quite clear that Signals Intelligence matter. You need to know what you are emitting (that the enemy can use to target you) and what the enemy is emitting (so you can target them.

If you see this post and instead go to buy yet another AR, then I don’t know what to tell you. You are NGMI.

Take a break from the “cool guy shit” and actually get the gear that will simultaneously save your life and allow you to target your enemies more effectively.

If you have no experience with this gear or in this realm, IT IS OKAY. Neither did I until NC Scout and I met nearly 6 years ago. It doesn’t take a rocket scientist to learn it either – I am certainly not close to that.

Make your 2024 resolution to forego yet ANOTHER rifle build and put your money into training and gear for communications and signals intelligence.

Need training? WE GOT YOU FAM.

Most, if not all, of those weapons rely on GPS guidance. What does this mean?

It means that if you rely on GPS for navigation and don’t know how to read a map & run a compass you’re gonna be screwed. Learn now.

GWOT amd Hollywood did (us) no favors.
The tattoo’d bearded helo inserting mk18 nod’d gpnvg door kicking bad ass is the New Cowboy.

I’ve too many of those “friends.”

I am beginning to think only a display of it’s power may drive home the point.

You aren’t wrong. Let’s be honest… the whole mk18, shoot fast at close targets is fun. It’s entertainment, like most conservative media is tbh.

Now put up a youtube video of you ringing steel at 425. Zzzzzzzz. It’d be boring. Yet, it’s exactly that ability that will go much, much further than the YT and twitter personalities who are doing shoot houses, and although quite entertaining… yeah that ain’t going to do so well when you’re outnumbered badly and they all have AK-103s.

Not that the mk18 doesn’t have a place. But, it’s place might not be the best topic for public discussion.

BOOM. Damn good call out PM. I’d even add to that, saying if you the reader, have a whole bunch of armalite rifles and no nods – just a monocular, you don’t need the panoramic tbh -, you actually don’t have any rifles because you can’t use any of them once the sun goes down. Yeah, sell the extra rifles. Yeah, you will be taking a loss. Besides, you can’t realistically say you have enough ammo for each rifle.

Being your own red team is a huge thing right now, because you can more or less anticipate how you may get attacked if you do it. Red team not just yourself with sigint, but with everything. Your community. Your neighbors. Take a hard, critical look at what you’re doing and what you can do better. Doing better is more working on your weaknesses, as opposed to your strengths.
