GUNS N GEAR
In my area of the country I am starting to see small businesses like pubs going cash only.
Working at a well known regional grocery chain part time, in the suburb of a somewhat well known metro area, we still accept cash in the self checkout lines. Corporate headquarters tried a pilot program that made one side (we have two sets of self checkout lanes at opposite ends of the store) credit card only.
It lasted maybe three or four months before they realized they were losing so much revenue from people, turning around and going to one of the man to check out lines, or the self check side that accepted cash, that they partially quashed it. They changed to several of the registers back to accepting cash, and the results have been much better.
My state’s food stamp program has been digital for at least 11 years.
Myself and one other employee are convinced that our chain is going to do away with paper bags as a cost saving measure. I don’t know if they will be successful or not because we have enough people that are still clamoring for paper bags, including myself, that they may be forced to relent on that as well.
We are heading towards the events in Book of Apocalypse, boys. Stand ready!
