This must stem from a long series of arrests that include America, Taiwan, Finland (IIRC), and France that were made over the last few years.
Luckily Semi-Conductor manufacturing equipment is treated like the drawings for the B-2 Stealth Bomber.
All parts and assemblies are consolidated at one location for final construction and final tie-in, and the units are 100% sealed and under guard 24/7.
They busted one of the spies with some fake drawings for separate component his team was NOT working on.
IIRC he forged several RFI’s for unrelated components and assemblies and this triggered a counter intel op.
You know they are desperate for intel when they are sending social engineering emails asking for someone to accidentally email them the spec sheets and shop drawings.
The real test will come after the Ukraine/Russia war dictates what types of chips make the best weapons (for cheap, mass production)
I’m thinking part of this conversation is turning into a psy-op in a lot of ways because I don’t think you need 9nm or 7nm silicon wafers to make a weaponized drone.
Pretty sure the old 22nm stuff works JUST fine…

I’m probably completely wrong, But I have been studying this for a few years now and it’s gonna be a very scary day when china can make Javelin/Stinger/GPS missile chips by the millions for Pennie’s on the dollar compared to the western Capitalist markets
