Duke Medical School Suggests Punctuality is ‘White Supremacy’

Woke culture is at it again, this time, affecting one of the most prominent universities in the country. As part of an “Anti-Racist Workforce,” Duke Medical School alleges that expecting minorities to be on time is part of “White supremacy culture,” Fox News Digital reports.

According to the outlet, the university devised the plan in 2021 in a detailed guide titled “Dismantling Racism and Advancing Equity, Diversity and Inclusion in the School of Medicine.” It outlines essential aspects of institutions as being racist, including dress code, speech, tardiness, and work style.

“White supremacy culture is the idea (ideology) that White people and the ideas, thoughts, beliefs, and actions of white people are superior to People of Color and their ideas, thoughts, beliefs and actions,” the guide said.

It accused the U.S. of being designed and catered to white people, whom it claimed received exclusive privileges solely based on being white. The guide also attacked individualism and perfectionism, stating that these qualities were racist and unfair to minorities.

“In the workplace, white supremacy culture explicitly and implicitly privileges whiteness and discriminates against non-Western and non-white professionalism standards related to dress code, speech, work style, and timeliness,” the document said. “Some identifiable characteristics of this culture includes perfectionism, belief that there’s only one right way, power hoarding, individualism, sense of urgency and defensiveness.”

Dr. Mary E. Klotman, the school’s dean, approved the guide, saying that it will assist in “dismantling racism.”

“Our plan for dismantling racism and advancing equity, diversity and inclusion was created with an intentional and appropriate need for flexibility,” she said.

“As you read this plan, consider the actions you might take individually, with your teams, and in your local units to support our collective goals. Each of you will play an important role in advancing our mission to dismantle racism and promote equity, diversity and inclusion at Duke and beyond.”

The university indicated it would recruit from Historically Black Colleges and community colleges for its “Anti-Racist Workforce” to ensure a more racially diverse workplace.

The guide stated that white people suffer from “White fragility,” a term created by woke activist Robin DiAngelo, who wrote the book “White Fragility: Why It’s So Hard for White People to Talk About Racism.”

DiAngelo claims that many white people are unaware of their privilege and have limited knowledge of racism.

The guide suggested that white individuals may feel triggered when discussing racism, leading to feelings of anger and fear.

“At the Duke University School of Medicine, we believe that equity, diversity, and inclusion are core elements of institutional excellence,” the university’s website reads.

“We are committed to developing and implementing a culture of inclusion in which faculty, staff, and students from underrepresented backgrounds experience a genuine sense of value, empowerment, and belonging.”

Duke’s medical school did not respond to Fox Digital News for comment.
