Growing up in San Francisco in the 60’s my dad and mom were respectively a composer/pianist and vocalist that were sort of famous in Northern California “show-tune” genre circuit (ie churches, PBS shit etc) I knew this guy as “Uncle Vince” as he was frequently at our home playing our piano and partying with the grownups during holidays.
Dad wanted him to teach me piano but my azimuth was pointed toward the Marines —as a grunt, NOT the Marine Corps band.
RIP “Uncle Vince”, a hell of a pianist.
