While both Left and Right share a similar attitude toward this camera threat and the recent rise in actions against them is a positive development overall, it is essential for our side to be aware of the full spectrum of tools available to the authorities in responding. I think it is reasonable to assume metadata risk within 10 miles of any target and a masked low profile avenue of approach within the same radius is a good rule of thumb to start with. For these reasons, I think it is wise to let the Left take the lead and take the hits in response to these actions. Quite a few self-identified Antifa types or even actual members will likely be caught up in the security agency response, which should at least put them into the criminal justice system and on everyone’s radar.
Since the cameras themselves are cheap and have a low CARVER score, there is little value in participating in an unfocused vandalism campaign against them. The real payoff would be if this activity results in widespread public awareness and disapproval of such blanket surveillance and politically forces their removal. The odds of that happening are fairly steep even if the left works itself into a militant frenzy over them as was the case with ICE, but they have the best chance of galvanizing political power against Flock. This video suggests that the security apparatus is very serious about staying the course with this line of policy, so there will need to be a transition from larping to big boy rules if they are going to see it through.
