LTC ROBERT K. BROWN DIES AT 93

RIP to LTC Brown. There will never be another quite like him.

I’ve been a lifelong fan of SOF since I was introduced to the magazine in early 90s, and the multi-part series on Oklahoma City opened my eyes as a kid far more than probably anything else.

Steve Barry told me much about his time working with "Bob" / "Boulder Brown" just prior to writing the original SF Sniper Course POI. Definitely one of the more impactful conversations I’ve had across a dinner table with many glasses of Jameson. Some of that knowledge they refined I try in earnest to pass along in the Scout and Recce courses. Certain truths are timeless, lest we allow them to fade into obscurity.

LTC Brown was a Cowboy, an adventurer, and above all, an American original. He’s already missed. And tonight I’ll be toasting one in his memory.
