Boy, is this an important topic that never gets discussed–even though every vet has been through systematic sleep deprivation at some point.

Good to hear somebody else sing the praises of siestas. It just makes a lot of sense–especially in hot climates.

Wondering how much of our opfor will be home-grown, and how much will be imported “to do the jobs Americans won’t do.”

Our Opfor, whoever that is, does not want a shooting war with us until our guns are removed. They’re not going to engage us with bullets. Probably not in our lifetime. Probably not ever. They are going to try to win the battle before it starts. They read Sun Tzu just like we did.

I disagree. Its very possible that as more of “US” refuse to comply with the dictates of a leftist .gov it may very well come down to violence. Oddly enough throughout history it always seems to. We aren’t so civilized that .gov violence is off the table..

When my little four-man HUMINT team got attached to a LRS unit in RC South, one of our guys, who was very nice and very motivated, but also very young and maybe a little too full of piss and vinegar, told me sleep is a crutch”. I think he had also said “food is a crutch” at one point. I was no grizzled war vet but I told him “sleep is a weapon when the enemy had 6 hours of it and you only had 6 minutes of it.”

      Yup.
