Knife Combative Drills from Argentina
Excellent, short video on knife combatives. Its in spanish, but its done by a practitioner of Kali and demonstrating the differences between fantasy and reality.
And the first rule of knife fighting? You’re going to get cut.

While it’s important to realize that if you are unprepared for knife fight and find yourself in one, yes you are going to get cut but my practical reality of knife fighting is that the person who wins the knife fight is the one who brought a gun. Gun beats knife every time. The one mistake many people when they pull a gun is that they don’t shoot. WRONG! When a knife man comes at you, you empty the magazine on him and you walk away alive.
Absolutely. I’ve heard some call that the “eating the popcorn” effect.
BTW, lets not forget why the Tueller drill is practiced. Speed of the attacker requires extremely quick response to avoid the blade, hit a moving target sufficiently enough to end the threat. The average time to cover 21 feet is 1.5 seconds. The average reaction time of a humanoid ~.75 to 1 second. Not a lot of time to accomplish the goal. Inside of 20 feet, according to one demonstration, highly likely you are going to be cut. Good instructive video even in Spanish. Hope my comment wasn’t off topic, just thought it was food for thought. Thanks.
