Michael Gladius Sends…

While AP is not a Trad Catholic site, we certainly support the defense of Western Civilization and the remnant within Catholicism that has been staunchly anti-Communist since the conflict began. The excerpt and linked article are a great resource to send to those just now realizing that there is a conflict and are searching for answers. Additionally it is a great reminder for us all to not lose our humanity in this time of crisis. Western Civilization is great because it integrates principles bigger than politics, bigger than economics and eternal truths that existed before the foundation of the world.

10 Steps to Prepare for America’s Economic Collapse

5. Ponder the Moral Dimension
Frenetic intemperance is rooted in selfish unrestraint. It fosters individualism, whereby God and neighbor are shut out from the imagined universe we create for ourselves. But Saint John teaches: “[H]e that loveth not his brother, whom he seeth, how can he love God, whom he seeth not?” (1 John 4:20). How very different is the guiding principle preached and lived by Our Divine Savior: “Greater love than this no man hath, that a man lay down his life for his friends” (John 15:13). Through the generous giving of self we eradicate frenetic intemperance and selfish individualism from our lives.

Whatever America’s economic collapse entails for you and your family, developing the habit of self-sacrifice is excellent spiritual preparation. Indeed, this dedication to others and to the common good, this true charity, has sustained every Christian society for 2,000 years.

6.  It Takes a Family
Parents correctly see their children as extensions of themselves and sacrifice for them. In turn, children feel compelled by the ties of nature to love, honor, and sacrifice for their parents who collaborated with God to give them their existence. These bonds of affection and service tend naturally to expand, moving beyond the nuclear to the extended family: grandparents, cousins, uncles, and so on.

Former U.S. Senator Rick Santorum correctly noted that, “It takes a family.” The family is a powerful and affectionate social safety net, and can provide many of the services usurped by the cold modern State. As an economic entity, the family tends to create patterns of production and consumption different from the flawed individualist model of today.

From the economic standpoint, the temperate structures of family tradition protect men from cut-throat competition. The predatory influence of usury is lessened since many have recourse to the family in times of need.

Your family’s loving ambience is the easiest place for you to practice Christian charity.

7.  It Takes a Village
From her perch on the Left, Hillary Clinton wrote that, “It takes a village.” This is perhaps the one point where we agree with her, though the underlying spirit is different. Hers is a socialist outlook, ours must be Christian.

We see the spirit of the family mirrored in associations and communities, towns and cities. These intermediate bodies between the family and the State are open to the temperate spirit of the family, which radiates its benevolent influence outwards.

This same family spirit has such a capacity to absorb and integrate that everyone in a region, even outside elements, eventually share a common family-like mentality, temperament and affection. A person from the South, for example, participates in the great “Southern family” or, to extend the analogy further, in our great American family.

Love your community. Be involved. Be proud of the good traits, traditions, products and cultural achievements of your region and do whatever you can to develop them further. Help others see the blessings God placed in your region

As a Catholic I can tell you two things about Catholics,

    1) They don’t read the bible, but are the holiest of Christ’s followers.
    2) They are always right and you are always wrong.

The Catholics will join Islam and Communism. They already are. Many of the women I went to school with married muslims.
In fact, in my family, the word Christ is a swear word. You MUST use the term “Lord”.

There is a reason the Pope kisses the feet of Jihadi invaders who rape, murder, and steal.

Again, Johnny Paratrooper, you paint a group of people with a broad brush. So every Catholic; 1) “Does not read the bible” and 2) “they are always right[,] and you are always wrong”?

When you generalize like you did, you minimize valued input you may make on other posts you offer comment on.

Agreed. I am interested to learn that I, as a Catholic, do not read the Bible and that I think I am always right.

Thank you Patriotman, for your thank you.

I was thinking of you, your fiancé, and my Catholic neighbors when I wrote what I wrote about Johnny Paratroopers ignorant broad-brush stroke comment.

As a Christian, and also as someone baptized Catholic, I think people should remember and remind themselves that without Christ we are all damned, before God we are all deeply flawed, and it is only through Jesus’ sacrifice that we can be saved.

Peter himself sided with heretics (sound familiar?) and was actually promoting heresy with the Judaizers but was saved by the Holy Spirit – working through Paul – from binding it on the faithful or putting it into Sacred Scripture.

Furthermore, let’s look at the original Apostles that Christ himself chose fully knowing what kind of people they could be:

One Apostle – Judas – outright betrayed Christ for 30 pieces of silver and killed himself (committed *murder* against himself). The next *ten* apostles fled after Christ was taken captive with Peter verbally denying Christ three times. None of them were anywhere to be seen at the Crucifixion.

Finally, only *one* Apostle – John – was at the foot of the Cross. Christ’s mother Mary was at the foot of the cross (John 19:25), and Mary mother of James and Joses along with Mary mother of Clopas (Mark 15:40, Matthew 27:55–56).

There were more women named Mary there than there were Apostles at the Crucifixion.

Being a member of the Catholic Church which we believe leaves an irrevocable mark on your soul doesn’t guarantee morality or that you’ll go to heaven. There are plenty with that mark on their soul in hell including a number of Priests, Bishops and Popes.

      With regard to scripture reading:
Any Catholic that meets their minimum obligation to attend Sunday Mass has gotten a bare minimum of three to four scripture readings via the Liturgy of the Word which is required for the first 1/2 of every Mass. There are one to two OT/NT readings, the singing of the Psalms, and then the special reading of the Gospels where they all stand and say aloud “praise to you Lord Jesus Christ!” afterwards.

The Church has also exhorted all Catholics to attend daily Mass if possible (more scripture readings) and follow the Liturgical calendar’s daily scripture reading schedule.

Jesus knew exactly what kind of people were going to lead his Church and he promised to preserve it. The communist infiltrators and their father Satan will ultimately fail.

I to agree with Johnny. I am a Catholic, and I used to attend Bible study, and I don’t care to be right, I just want to know what is right and true. Nothing that has humans involved is perfect. The Catholic has an very dark and bright history. However, the best lessons on morality and life I received from two Irish priests at my parochial school. Also, consider the church has been infiltrated by communist. This is well documented. And regarding the pope (lower case on purpose) I do not like him at all, and it does not matter because my parish is all I look towards.

He mentioned “Trad Catholic” and the remnant within the Catholic religion. This is not the same as the post Vatican II Catholic religion that most are familiar with. That post VII church is full of homosexuals, communists, feminists and barring divine intervention are already lost.

Trad Catholics as a group are very much the opposite. They largely attend the older Latin mass, read and study scripture, have a devotion to the Blessed Virgin Mary, pray a family rosary, and have large families that they homeschool. These Catholics cling to tradition and traditional moral values. Most own guns, support Trump, and are great patriots.
