It does look cool (if that matters) doesn’t it! Looks like one hell of a scout rifle.

It would make one hell of a scout rifle.

Rule #1 is to look cool. It’s good for morale.

It looks like the link in the intro paragraph is for a different rifle. This appears to be the SLR link: https://www.dlsports.com/dl-2015-carbine.html

I’d love it if PSA would make an “American AK” in conjunction with Dave Lauck instead of all those ‘historical reproduction’ models they’re releasing right now. An easier to load mag-well and left charging handle like the SLR but with the AK-P top cover rail would be pretty cool.

Highly unlikely to happen but I can dream…

I’ve been practicing mag reloads on the AK with my eyes closed to simulate a night time environment and it can be frustrating compared to the AR due to the lack of mag-well. Indexing off of the rivet in front of the mag-well helps.

In my experience, the AK takes some time to learn, as does the M1A. The SKS with mags practically loads itself. Despite the internet consistently saying everything to the contrary.

It’s actually possible to damage an M1A mag during loading.
