Nice to know about aim surplus, seems like a decent rifle but you can still get em cheaper from PSA, which is (or was) an affiliate of AP.
You can get a Blem lower for $120 + tax free w/free shipping and ffl transfer fee
Blem upper as low as $199 w/o BCG or charging handle- $299 w/ BCG and charging handle and rear MBUS
Then they offer all types of deals with bulk mags/ammo/BCG/ optic etc., for example 5 gen 2 pmags and 100 rd American Eagle 55gr 5.56. For $99
Then for a budget red dot I always recommend Sig Romeo 5, you can get them as low as $110-$120 on sale from amazon, optics planet and PSA. Alabama Arsenal does a great torture test on them found on youtube and they stand up great to abuse.
Finally that leaves you with a nice budget build w/ mags, ammo and red dot right around $700
Next spend that money saved on a nice sling (weapon retention is huge) and more ammo to train with.
