LMAO…great post mate…So..Grew up in ND needing to shoo whitetail deer, mule’s, coyote, fox, beaver, prairie rats for food, (not the rats, for grazing issue w cattle/horses) predator control and money to support the family..

Every 30-45 days the furrier came and hung out at the RR yard/grain silos to collect pelts…

Actually used to carry rifles and 20-40 rnds of ammo to school, an hold in lockers, then go out behind the school and smoke critters…

Ran a winchester (bought from local hardware store) 670, .243 w a Weaver 4x in a simple crosshair to great effect out to 300yds or more, in some rare cases…basic meat gun..

We ran from sun up to sundown, even at full moon lit nights with full blankets of snow, never an issue seeing our crosshairs..killt (:-))many an animal….kept the freezer full and varmits under control. Froze our asses of doing so…

Now, i run cabelas ar scope in 1-4 or 1-6 lpvo, etched reticle w red/green option, but can bang steel all day out to 100+ m w out it lit up….

Great value for a lpvo imo…

If i need to run it at night in the QTH, at this range it’s point and fucking click man, if anyone comes in after we are locked up, they are opfor, period, at this range, 1600sf ranch, i won’t miss, as i also keep ambient light on…

Too much focus on gadgets vs skills, shit i qualified on open sights out to 300m, day night quals, we painted front sight white with glow in the dark paint and did ok….

Whats gonna happen to these square range queens when their shit breaks/runs out of juice and no other options….

    Just my old crotchety perspective….

keep it up, love the posts…
