If it’s a regional conflict (India & Pakistan) I can see maybe a tit for tat possibly but man the world would go on hair trigger alert. However if it’s any of the big boys (US, Russia, China) I can’t see any scenario where when one nuke is launched without a vast majority of them going off. Personally if that happens I hope to be standing somewhere around ground zero. That nukemap app/site looks pretty cool.

A conflict between India and Pakistan is anything but regional.

Yea agreed, it would escalate quickly. I have often thought about apocalyptic stuff since I was young. I came to the conclusion when one nuke goes off they all go. Just got a book yesterday called Swan Song by Robert McCammon. Read it when I was a young man one of the best books I have ever read. It’s about a nuclear apocalypse takes place in the late 80’s I think. Most thought a nuclear war was in our rear view mirror after the collapse of the USSR. I would say we are getting pretty close to midnight on the doomsday clock once again. Not sure if they still use that or not, might be an interesting thing for your website scroll.

Nuclear Winter killing everything worldwide is more anti-nuke hysteria to push their agenda to ban the bomb. For practical Civil Defense tips on how to increase your family survival if/when nukes start getting unleashed, read http://www.GoodNewsNuke.com

Scanning thru your link Shane. That’s pretty interesting stuff. Unless its an isolated terrorist I got a feeling if one nuke goes many more will too. I guess there are things you can do. The nuclear winter would be a bitch for growing anything. But the good news is most of the people in the cities will be literal toast so you might be able to find stashes of canned goods for some time. There shouldn’t be to much competition ;)

Nuclear Winter is a idea born of the leftist Carl Sagan.

He tried several times to get the computer model to agree with him, it never did.

So, he redid the model where the fires burned forever and produced as mush smoke as it could.

    Thus, Nuclear Winter.

Um, I wasn’t impressed by the video. Kinda superficial and not very enlightening. I think I’ll pen a response. Nuclear was has been a hobby of mine since I was kid and I wrote two novels on the subject. I agree with MICoyote about nuclear winter and Shane Connor’s link. Good stuff.

I do believe that we’re waiting for WWIII. Like WWI and WWII consisted of different theaters with different issues, although similar players, any major war will probably destabilize everything. I’d bet that China/Taiwan starts it all. The US responds and Iran/Israel see this as their moment. Perhaps India jumps in on the “allied” side and China v. India starts. Then Putin takes advantage of the chaos to consolidate his gains by forcibly annexing the rest of the Russian majority populations in Europe. And then there is Turkey.

Allied: US, UK, Israel, India, NATO, Japan, SK
Axis: China, NK, Iran, Pakistan, Russia

Best case scenario: this starts the Great Tribulation and ends with Jesus coming back.
