Russia moves blood supplies near Ukraine

Russia’s military buildup near Ukraine has expanded to include supplies of blood along with other medical materials that would allow it to treat casualties, in yet another key indicator of Moscow’s military readiness, three US officials tell Reuters.

Current and former US officials say concrete indicators — like blood supplies — are critical in determining whether Moscow would be prepared to carry out an invasion, if Russian President Vladimir Putin decided to do so.

The disclosure of the blood supplies by US officials, speaking on condition of anonymity, adds another piece of context to growing US warnings that Russia could be preparing for a new invasion of Ukraine as it masses more than 100,000 troops near its borders.

These warnings have included President Joe Biden’s prediction that a Russian assault was likely and US Secretary of State Antony Blinken’s remarks that Russia could launch a new attack on Ukraine at “very short notice.”

The Pentagon has previously acknowledged the deployment of “medical support” as part of Russia’s buildup. But the disclosure of blood supplies adds a level of detail that experts say is critical to determining Russian military readiness.

“It doesn’t guarantee that there’s going to be another attack, but you would not execute another attack unless you have that in hand,” said Ben Hodges, a retired US lieutenant general now with the Center for European Policy Analysis research institute.

The Russian Defense Ministry did not immediately respond to a written request for comment.

      A fair comment.
One would think that Russia would utilize a walking blood bank program.
Or, order their soldiers to donate blood.
And send extra food supplies to replenish lost tissue.

Curious that this does sound like some made up BS from an Airchair commando who hasn’t seen Ranger school since the 1990’s.

My understanding is that while many Battalion Tactical Groups worth of vehicles and materiel have been forward deployed, in many BTGs the troops assigned to the subordinate maneuver companies have not. This could partially explain the arrival of blood supplies versus ordering troops to donate blood. Some units may not have many troops from which to draw blood. Perhaps the supplies were going to Brigade or Combined Arms Army level medical facilities versus maneuver battalions.

The Russians didn’t redeploy all of their equipment from their previous 2021 exercise and what we’re seeing now (really since October), maskirovka/reflexive control or not, may be the final preps for military action.

Conservative Treehouse says this is fake news and the Ukraine CPUSA cookie jar is furious.
Remember that time the former CCCP trolled the useful idiot fellow travelers with some vintage toy military gear and calling it satellite footage?
Good times because anytime the faculty lounge gets punked, all is well.

Yes, amusing to see one end of the CNN mouth say something that even the other CNN mouth (the one acetually on the ground IN Ukraine) says is baloney. Gee, that’s some pretty good sourcing; tracking the marking of vehicles, vehicle types, and container types to drill-down to augmented blood supplies on the Russian side of the border. That’s like a gunshow Mosin for $600; someone must think they can sell that.

This is just too absurd to even comment on. “Speaking on condition of anonymity…” Pff. That means it is a lie.

Russia, Russia, Russia! I’ll take Putin over Brandon any day. How did we end up with fools like this ruling over us? The video where Clarence Thomas narrates the Biden clip as chairperson of his Senate confirmation hearing is funny as hell if you haven’t seen it. Also, depressing when you realize that we have allowed corrupt morons to rule in our name.

Ukrainian President Zelensky had to warn Senile Joe to calm down the rhetoric. If Ukrainians aren’t terrified, then no one should be.
