In re: fertilizer fires. Interesting note, my old S.States rep told me that the N.C. fire was only to portion of the place that “makes specialty stuff,” ie. Prilled Ammonium Nitrate. You can’t buy that in my neck of Appalchistan anymore. They only sell the 40-0-0 Urea. It is prilled, but doesn’t store as well BC any moisture and it bricks out. Uncle Sam pushed US manufacturers to only produce Urea rather than the old 34-0-0 stuff. They sold it as a win/win as farmers have to come back year after year to buy Urea and in many cases have to have the distributor apply it to acreage, as the farmers don’t have the specialty equipment needed. The other win is Bubbas won’t have access for the other thing that the old stuff was good for.
    Great show.
