Google’s true origin partly lies in CIA and NSA research grants for mass surveillance

Two decades ago, the US intelligence community worked closely with Silicon Valley in an effort to track citizens in cyberspace. And Google is at the heart of that origin story. Some of the research that led to Google’s ambitious creation was funded and coordinated by a research group established by the intelligence community to find ways to track individuals and groups online.

The intelligence community hoped that the nation’s leading computer scientists could take non-classified information and user data, combine it with what would become known as the internet, and begin to create for-profit, commercial enterprises to suit the needs of both the intelligence community and the public. They hoped to direct the supercomputing revolution from the start in order to make sense of what millions of human beings did inside this digital information network. That collaboration has made a comprehensive public-private mass surveillance state possible today.

I worked on a Google Data center that was under construction in Clarksville, TN. It was called Project Vandelay and the word “Google” was forbidden even though the rainbow G was on the sign out front…
What struck me was the amount of force protection that I hadn’t seen since working on JSOC @ Ft Bragg and the 32, 2-million Watt generators per building! I mentioned that it was 100% for Fort Campbell right down the road and meant for domestic surveillance more than anything else. Nope, no one could fathom that.
In early October they told everyone to.work 24/7 to complete the latest building. 3 weeks.later they halted all construction and 1 month later was the official start of the ‘pandemic”.
There are massive data centers all over the US that though the sign says Google, Facebook, Amazon, they all serve the same purpose.
I’ve been in one and it is jaw dropping. The redundancy, overwhelming structural design, and quite frankly it’s simplicity.

It’s one of those open secrets that Sergey Brin’s advisors who paid for his post-grad at Stanford were a three-letter agency venture fund. The legend is that he would roller blade into meetings and update them on his research. Now, the facts show that he credited them by name in his thesis. It cannot be mentioned, yet it can be confirmed by the docs. So there’s that.

Their original mission was to be the sole portal for information needs for all peoples. They made it sound better and had Marissa Mayer in the video.

I went to a conference one year and in the vendor room, one of the booth-babes was the guy from the Mummy movies, Oded Fehr who played the leader of the guardians who kept the mummy contained. The booth he was babe for was the NSA. They also had an Enigma machine on display. Those were the two features of their booth that stand out to me.

The used of venture funds and post-grad fellowships is business there. It different fields post-grad is paid for by the fund that is in that lane. You perform the designated research, perhaps assigned as a member of a team, present to your advisory board from whatever venture firm and if you attain the desired milestone, you spin off into a start-up.

Same-same with google back in the day. It is the way of the Silicon Valley. Graft, corruption, outright theft and lots of intrigue.

Everything is interconnected, always has been.

I’m glad to see this information making it to the surface. This article being 4 years old says a lot in and of itself. “Fakebook” has a paralell origin story. Its all verifiable. When I tried warning people about this stuff years ago I felt rediculed and misunderstood. Some folks I work with, (the tweaker coder types), due to thier daily, have a much darker perspective than even I.
