Preparedness Tips – Hygiene Products

As all of us ramp up our preps, don’t forget to focus on stuff you use daily. As an example: hygienic material. I got all of these through coupon deals at grocery stores or at big box stores like Costco and BJs.

We all focus on bullets, beans, and band aids. We sometimes forget the daily use stuff. It isn’t getting any cheaper, and it provides a comfort of life.

Hand Soap

Bar Soap

Toothpaste (numbered in order of what to use first)

More bar soap

Body Wash and Shampoo

Toothbrushes, more toothpaste, and razors (stupidly cheap on sale)

Other items of consideration:

Tampons

Pads

Razors

Combs

Nail Clippers

Tweezers

Baby Wipes (rotate frequently)

Washcloths (get some surplus stuff from sportsmanguide)

The more comfort stuff you have, the better off yo will be. If it is a slow collapse/economic depression, shit ain’t getting cheaper. I bought all of this before inflation really set in, and even if that means I saved $50, it means something.

If it is SHTF for real, these things make a world of difference in keeping morale high.

Everyone likes the sexy gear, guns and ammo. Don’t forget about the basics.

Instead of wasting money on toothpaste, I have been using baking soda for years. Works really well.

70% Alcohol and Hydrogen Peroxide are sold by the quart at Walmart costing about $2 for the former and 1$ for the latter. Those are my first go to items to treat a cut or abrasion to prevent infection. Stopping it before it can take hold is critical.

…and don’t forget to keep a big garden patch growing heirloom corn each year.
Besides the nutrition/calories this will provide, those dried cobs might prove valuable too.

Wife and I spent $600 at Sam’s back in January. All we bought was hygiene products–soap, shampoo, toothbrushes, pads etc….For less than the cost of a low tier AR, we’re set.
