Nice little tool! The biggest problem I’ve seen with the whole AK system is one of It’s greatest appeals. Ammo. Cheap steel cased ammo meant American’s were going to shoot it like a blaster. Rather than tinker it with innovations. That and modularity. The system doesn’t lend itself to upgrades as easily as the AR system. And American’s love to innovate.
I can’t help but think if we were given reloadable brass cases in bulk, the AK system would be much improved over the offering of today.
I knew a person who 25 years ago built a bolt action 7.62×39, heavy twist, and was reloading sub-sonics to shoot suppressed. Just as the PPC line of cartridges were created from that case. We could have had guns to match.

Disagree on the modularity issue. That was solved about 10 years ago, there’s a ton of aftermarket support for the ak platform now. They’re every bit as modular as ARs.

Impressive. I know that my friend’s “Krinkov Klone” shoots on a quarter at 25 meters. Which means it is almost certainly effective out to 300. And maybe shoot 2-3 times out to 500. The sights don’t have any marks on them, but the RDS he installed sits on the Ultimak rail. The 7.62×39 round is clocking in at around 2000FPS. Which is more power than a hot and heavy .357 magnum…
These pistol AK’s are not range toys. They are very serious weapons.
