Tracking Fuel Shortages

https://tracker.gasbuddy.com/
This doesn’t look to be getting better with time. Colonial Pipeline has still been limited on its details or a potential timeline following the cyber attack, but has stated that it “is developing a system restart plan.”
“While our mainlines (Lines 1, 2, 3 and 4) remain offline, some smaller lateral lines between terminals and delivery points are now operational. We are in the process of restoring service to other laterals and will bring our full system back online only when we believe it is safe to do so, and in full compliance with the approval of all federal regulations.”
We’ll see. Until then though, a lot of people are gonna feel the crunch. And with scenes like what I’ve been getting from first person accounts being sent to me, people’s already strained patience is that much thinner.
Stay frosty.

Gosh I really wish I would have had the foresight to get that free 500g tank with stand from a neighbor who just wanted it gone.
Then I wish I was paranoid enough to fill it with 87 octane non-ethanol at $2.68 a gallon delivered a few months ago when a certain
sub-optimal politician took office. If only….

That would have been bad ass right now. I’ve got a diesel transfer tank but nothing that big.

      LOL. Yessiree, “if only”….
      :D

Problem is this gas with ethanol turns to shit fast. Diesel will last. Up here in the farming areas they sell ethanol free stuff but still won’t last like diesel.
These freaks are definitely making a run at us .

Gas is up 8 cents since Saturday, here in east tn. But no outages yet.

    • That dude May 13, 2021 at 21:20

Never mind, 3 bucks a gallon now, outages everywhere.

One point not identified is that Gretchen the Hag is trying to shut down a Canadian/American line that crosses into northern Michigan.
It supplies 50% of the crude oil for Ontario and Quebec, about 10% of Michigan’s raw crude and 40% of the States propane.
This is on top of the other nonsense going on.

Oh man. Of course she is…becasue…why wouldn’t she.
I really feel for y’all up there.

Raleigh/Durham is basically out I hear. Which is curious because they don’t do the kind of driving and operating that the rural areas due. They just drive to work on campus and back.

Some of the stations near me in NJ have come close to empty (the staff was telling me the low fuel alarm was going off) but no shortages yet. They are creeping northward though

So now on the AM radio station near me they said that Colonial was going to open up the main pipeline. I wonder if the dumbasses paid the ransom?

It’s unfortunate to see politicians encouraging people to document/shame businesses engaging in “price gouging”.
Meanwhile, a little dose of temporary free market Price Discovery is EXACTLY what we need to prevent people from buying more than they need, while assuring that people have some remaining supply to still meet their needs. Everyone has different needs and different potential alternatives, thus price discovery is superior to socialist-style rationing.
Also, this gives the businesses the (temporary) margin to PAY more for supplies, meaning they could afford to pay a premium for someone to truck in gasoline cross-country until the situation is resolved instead of getting in from the nearby pipeline.
Instead, we all panic-buy more than we need and hope we can beat the other fools. (I sure did — fully loaded up all vehicles on Saturday as soon as I got wind of the issue…but if it was $10/gallon I might have gotten a little less!)

Gas jumped 20 cents per gallon here. By this evening everyone is out. Local snooze reports gas going for 7 bucks a gallon up in VA.
Glad I filled several 55 gallon barrels back when the orange man was in office and fuel was cheap.

look at the shiny thing here (pipeline)…. look at the shiny thing over there (possible ww3 with Russia), look at another shiny thing over there (more israel starting bullshit) …
everything but look too closely at (((who’s))) REALLY behind the flu d’etat destroying the middle class, our civil liberties and now killing people off with a kill shot, not to mention the huge number of very serious side effects.
