Damn good question. I googled m30 …ahhh it’s a Creedmore round, just saw that. My buddy just got one. Wondering what that indentation around the barrel is for? Aesthetics or is there a reason? Looks expensive as hell but what a beaut.

I think it’s partially for the look. The grooves also create more surface area to dissipate heat by using the grooves. Usually I’ve only seen a single corkscrew design and only on some custom hunting rifles.

I was never really sold on it, at least as a look. I also think you’d have to do a lot more shooting than you would in a typical hunting scenario to generate that much heat that might affect the barrel/accuracy.

      It is.
One day I’m gonna get one of his lighter weight 6.5 Creedmoore rifles in a Chassis.
      Or an AR-10.
Or the basic AK Carbine with a couple bells and whistles.

Hell… I’m just gonna grab them all.
