Good timing as Russia launched an end of the year test barrage of hypersonic missiles ahead of the frightful sanctions (gasp!) that comrade chairman Big Guy or Xi Bai Den’s CCP handlers are putting together.
The KGB for life Putin and the SPEZNAZ tremble in fear of the mean Milly-Vanilly wymyns and 69th rainbow battalions with the pretty pink high heels logo.
Brilliant by the land of Sun Tzu to use the fifth column of the CPUSA democrats to conquer the FUSA without a shot.
Russia will probably due the heavy lifting over the Alaska route while the CCP lands at Georgia and Kalifornia where there will be no resistance from the dullards that Mark Dice interviews on the beach.

For vehicle; van, camper, boat, these are great. That said there are very small wood/charcoal burning space heaters e.g. https://www.tinywoodstove.com/wood-stoves-for-boats/
I prefer wood for heat and cooking, saving liquid fuels for transportation, electricity generation and equipment operation; tractor and combine, etc. This prioritization becomes an important issue in a prolonged or permanent grid down evolution.

Wood gasification is also a possibility to run IC, gas and diesel engines, but does require infrastructure and knowledge.
