Request for Information (RFI) – Weekly SITREP
I am going to make this a weekly post so that we can use this as a place to make any reports on unusual activity or localized hotspots of trouble. We did this a few times during COVID (here, here, here, and here) but I figured that, as our conditions continue to degrade around the country, it would be useful to bring this back as a regularly recurring topic of discussion.

General Location: Upper New England

Fuel Prices / Shortages: Elevated /None
Unusual Military Movement:
There has been a significant drop in the tempo of .mil air transport transiting the area to and from Europe and points east in the last few weeks. This traffic had included the full range of us transport aircraft as well as those of NATO allies , and also of note, the occasional Ukrainian Antonov. US air refuelers were also very active most hours of the day throughout the Autumn, and that activity appears to have been scaled back to “routine” levels.
Civil Unrest / Crime:
Local Marxist groups continue to agitate in public in support of Palestine/Gaza at various political and defense industry locations in the region. The demonstration participants are not uniformly members of known Marxist organizations, and they include a fair number of Islamic individuals who may harbor a different agenda. There is no question though that the Marxist groups are spearheading the organization, support, and publicity for these demonstrations. So far this activity has been mostly peaceful, but a Pro-Israel US Rep had his Bangor Maine office vandalized this week by pro Gaza operatives. There was also an anti Israel Graffiti incident in the Casco Bay town of Harpswell that has greatly distressed the local Stasi.
Interesting Local News / Events:
There is rising discontent in the State of Maine regarding the luxuries lavished upon Illegal Invaders with State funds while the domestic homeless population is ignored. The State has secured 2 brand new luxury apartment developments in the Town of Brunswick and has paid the Illegal’s rent for at least 2 years.
Public Service Interruptions: Considerable power outages and coastal flooding from winter storms.
Changes in Patterns of Life:
The 2 severe winter storms that transited New England in the last week produced onshore winds at the coast up to 70MPH. Both storms coincidentally peaked in the area at the same time as there happened to be astronomical high tides many feet above the mean high tide. The resulting damage to the coast is at least as bad as the historical “Blizzard of 78” storm, and in many places was much worse. Aside from the damage to private homes, the catastrophic damage to the fishing industries is unmatched in modern times. It remains to be seen how quickly these industries can recover, but in the short term, many fishermen and the business infrastructure that support them have been ruined.
Any additional observations or comments:
Excellent report as always Mike. They are very much appreciated!
