Request for Information (RFI) – Weekly SITREP

I am going to make this a weekly post so that we can use this as a place to make any reports on unusual activity or localized hotspots of trouble. We did this a few times during COVID (here, here, here, and here) but I figured that, as our conditions continue to degrade around the country, it would be useful to bring this back as a regularly recurring topic of discussion.

Post your reports in the comments below.

not much to reports, aside from fuel prices having come down a bit. gas/petrol 1.95-2.15 eur/liter, diesel 1.75-1.90 / liter. fresh butter from the regional ag co-op (dairy from about a 10-5 mile radius only, generally higher than average quality, moderate amounts exported to elsewhere in the country or even abroad with a pretty good reputation/name) had gotten up to eur 16/kilo, but was only 11/kilo (last year’s prices) just this past week. dont know if it was a one-off price drop , it wasn’t a sale or anything and they generally have pretty short pipelines for product, if you see it in the store it’s only been delivered there in the past couple days. cheese which is of course a long-term product will for sure have a long lag in any price drops if there are any. nothing else comes to mind as having actually come down in price.
shortages, nothing apparent. no hint of military activity in this area, but we’re in a backwater, military presence locally is almost nil. relatives currently doing their term in the army (we have a conscription here, the army is a joke and these days kids only do 9 months of service, used to be 18 months, but still everyone goes) at posts on the mainland both only relate the typical, boring on-base chores, crap food, etcetera, same as we remember from our generation.
nothing else really to report. watching developments in the us and up in europe, but in day to day reality that’s a world away.
it’s been a very poor winter for rainfall thus far, will be a difficult year unless we get a lot of good rain/snow in the next few months.

I heard this months ago. Thought I’d mention it, as this had not been said before. I have a friend moved to Texas close to border. Late at night, his door handle gets rattled from illegals passing through. But the thing caught my attention was he picked up tossed cell phones by the illegal aliens. It seems likely they know they can be tracked if they keep them, once they cross the border.

    General Location: Upper New England

Food Price / Shortages: Elevated /None

Fuel Prices / Shortages: APX $3.29 Gal Reg/ None

    Retail Ammo:
Prices remain high. Scarcity is slowly creeping back into the picture. There is ample shelf stock of most calibers except 5.56, which sells as fast as it arrives. Shotgun and rifle primers have been unavailable for months, though pistol primers are well stocked.

    Unusual Military Movement: None

Civil Unrest / Crime: There is a steady drumbeat of the property crime as outlined in previous reports. Nothing new by way of type or volume.

Interesting Local News / Events: The New Hampshire Primary took place last night. Left wingers seemed to show up in numbers to either vote for FJB as a write in candidate, (he won the Demo race) or to pile on for Haley in an attempt to sabotage Trump. NH allows this party crossover for the primary regardless of the registered party affiliation.

    Public Service Interruptions:
Some mountain and immediate coastal roads are still washed out from earlier storms. Funding for repairs may be problematic in some cases. Localized power outages on a regular basis caused by poor winter driving and people sliding off the road into utility poles.

    Changes in Patterns of Life:
