Plato’s regimes, and my addendum.

The five regimes are written out in a progression from the first, called aristocracy, to what Plato lists last, which is tyranny. These progress from most desirable to least. Aristocracy, timocracy, oligarchy, democracy, tyranny is the order from top to bottom, first to last, most desirable to least. My personal addition, if I may make one, is anarchy.

The intelligent man is the one who can re-calibrate his worldview.

A worldview developed during someone's high school years or early twenties is almost certainly based upon information the individual was too naive to know was flawed. Secondly, for a person to remain psycho-socially healthy and useful to the world on both a micro (in their own family and friend circle) and macro (in their community) level, they have be able to change and adapt as new, correct, reasonable, logical information comes in. This requires them to constantly retool their character and re-calibrate that worldview. The final problem is that they are actively working to avoid changing by intentionally disregarding information that goes against their presuppositions.

There is a problem in Hungary, and a problem in greater Europe.

Much of Europe is already at the breaking point. Britain's prisons are already majority Muslim. Sweden is experiencing near daily grenade attacks. Molenbeek, Belgium is virtually one large no-go zone for white people and police. These are the kinds of situations Hungary, Poland and others are trying to avoid by closing their doors to the masses of foreign asylum-seekers, but the forces of Communism are slowly making progress in these places, the last bastions of Christian Western civilization standing in Europe.

Do we even have a nation anymore?

A quick Google search defines a nation as “a large body of people united by common descent, history, culture, or language, inhabiting a particular country or territory.” Oxford defines a nation as “a country considered as a group of people with the same language, culture and history, who live in a particular area under one government.” Looking at these definitions, the relevant ones at least, you see a common theme related to culture, language and history. These aspects also lend themselves heavily to common descent (race and ethnicity), religious philosophy, a general socially accepted moral code, values, ethics and traditions. After all of that, we can focus lastly on matters of actual borders and whether our government systems serve us all equally, or rather, whether our government rules over us all in roughly the same manner and to roughly the same benefit or detriment.

Is the US on the path of Balkanization?

The social observation is that such a mass of diverse peoples must have a voluntary pressure outlet in order to maintain peace. We must accept reality that not all cultures are able to be forced together with peaceful results. Forced proximity, with advantages, disadvantages and blame doled out only to certain peoples, with a lack of opportunity to separate peacefully will always result in strife and eventual violence.

What matters anymore?

Politics has become all, and thus it has become nothing. In that hellish landscape, is there any reason to waste time and energy with anything that doesn’t keep you out of a boxcar in the next decade? Is anything outside our baser nature’s necessary, or are things like art, philosophy and religion just liabilities to our survival at this point?
